Playing Tennis in the Wind
Shorten your back swing by about 20% with & against the wind. DON'T OVER HIT AGAINST THE WIND. If its possible warm-up with the wind at your back.
Elongate your follow through against the wind and don't use too much topspin. Go for control shots over power shots. (Slice more with the wind)
Focus on making smaller steps to allow for small adjustments late in the production of the shot.
Don't get to cute, play to general zones. The use of drop shots should generally be used only against the wind.
When serving lean into wind. Broaden your stance a little for stability and remember the facing wind will push your serve down. Serving with the wind in very difficult so try to stay smooth and pay more attention to your ball toss.
Approach into the wind low and short forcing opponent to play up. Also stand in a bit on the volley on this play.
Lob high and flat (little spin) with the wind. Think about coming to the net behind the lob. When lobbing against the wind use more spin. The ball will move around making for a difficult overhead.
When hitting overheads with the wind you may think about letting the lob bounce. Then hit the ball with the idea to bounce it over the back fence. With the wind try not to let the ball bounce and angle the ball away.
BE PATIENT, spend more time between points to think and relax. DON'T RUSH. Remember your opponents got the same problems so stay calm.
Playing in the wind is both Physically and mentally tiring so get plenty of rest before you play and maybe go over these points in your head.
